Media, Movies, and Molding the Mind
Description: We are all trying hard to integrate a variety of media into today's classroooms, but are we giving our students the tools needed to de-code the mediums we introduce? This session includes practical examples of questioning and analysis, sample classroom activities, and helpful links to resources for further exploration. Elissa Pensa - Cerros of La Salle Academy, Providence Rhode Island spoke of her work with the body and girls of La Salle. She assists them in basic understanding of the media and she encourages them to produce their own media.
Her down to earth, straight forward approach to analyze made the large audience feel capable of imitating her.
